Where The Bar Is Set
The challenge for consumer products makers today is that Apple sets the bar of consumer expectation very, very high. PCs, and later, mobile phones, used to be crapppy, but acceptably crappy, because there was nothing truly excellent to compare them to. Or at least, most people had never seen it first hand. Now, most people in America have seen an iPod, an iMac or an iPhone. And they know how good the products they buy could and should be.
If you’re making consumer products, whether physical or digital, the bar is set high. Get over it.
