Starbucks has launched a crowd sourcing effort called “My Starbucks Idea” that’s being described as a social network. My quick review didn’t reveal it as such, but the ideas I did see posted actually struck me as pretty good, though I doubt any were new to Starbucks. An interesting one was to provide WiFi login codes on the cups that gave you varying amounts of free network access based on the size of drink you bought. Or encoding drink preferences on the Starbucks card so it could be swiped when you entered, speeding ordering and reducing lines.

Interestingly, the site is powered by Salesforce.com and runs under a Salesforce URL, not Starbucks.com.
